Jean-Marie Massaud, designer of some of the most iconic Poliform products, continues to work with the brand, presenting the Saint-Germain sofa system, Koishi coffee tables, the Le Club armchair, Orbit coffee tables and the Seattle stool.
"How many projects have we developed together? I can't tell you because it's such a long adventure", says the French designer. "We rewrite our story every time we work together and it's an evolution we share. So many great adventures. Poliform is first and foremost a human company. It's a family, a team, a vision. In the end, it's a huge brand that has a unique way of creating refined and timeless elegance. With their organic shapes and quiet elegance, the Koishi coffee tables are designed as natural complements to the Saint-Germain system and accompany the collection's sofas and armchairs with personality. A sculptural yet minimalist metal structure supports a precious top in ebony stone, marble, reflective glass, or wood.

A gem of minimalism, Orbit is an entirely glass coffee table whose simplicity conceals a laborious and complex manufacturing process. It is visually light and minimal with a sculptural look that can fit any context from the very traditional to the most contemporary.

A stool with even more elegant proportions completes the Seattle chair collection designed by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2015. Like the chairs, the stool is distinguished by the quality of the leather upholstery with the stitching and punching inspired by the British shoemaking tradition.

After the Dream and Mad collections, last year Marcel Wanders wrote a new chapter in the Poliform story with the Gentleman collection which moves from the living room to the bedroom this year. Like the original core of armchairs, ottomans, and sofa, the new line is distinguished by its classic and exclusive style and attention to detail, a perfect mix of comfort and refinement. With a tall and curved headboard, the bed resembles the high headrest of Gentleman Reserved. To be noted are the classic references in the night table and dressers with tops in matte lacquered colors.

"When we produce an object, when we create a system of any kind, I consider them my babies and, naturally, a baby has a father and a mother. I am the mother, and in this case, of course, Poliform is the father", explain Wanders. "The most important thing you do as a mother is pick the father wisely. Poliform has a genetic content that is beautiful and valuable. So if I put my genetic material into contact with it, we can do something that we couldn't do with any other company because we are both unique and the ultimate result could be such that when you see an object that you've never seen before, you say, 'ah, this is a Poliform piece, and it's probably by Marcel'."
