Sylvain Willenz has designed the first Arrmet brand collection of large upholstered items, a family of four poufs whose shape was inspired by the cep mushroom. The extremely simple Cèpe poufs comprise just a stem and caps in increasing diameters. Available in four sizes, these versatile poufs convert into surface space or informal seating elements, depending on the setting in which they are used. The archetypal shape of Cèpe also offers a practical advantage: the slightly recessed base ensures that even the palest of fabrics stay clean for longer.
One of Arrmet’s longest-standing projects is the Dam collection of padded seats, which combines softness with technical qualities. Originally designed for office use, its wraparound shape and the quality of its upholstery have led architects to interpret it in a more liberal way, resulting in a stool for cocktail bars and restaurants and a small armchair to accompany imposing tables in fashion corporate environments. On this basis, Arrmet Lab, Arrmet’s design laboratory, set to work in redesigning the collection with one eye set firmly on ergonomics and one on design. The armchair now features three superimposed bands, while the stool has been embellished with a warmer, more versatile wood base.
Belle is a compact chair, harmonious in its proportions and universal in shape, which combines simplicity with elegance. The curved, wraparound backrest, which narrows to create a soft point, is the detail that makes this chair recognisable, and whose simplicity makes it suitable for all contract settings. Belle is completely upholstered and can be customised through five different bases for the chair and three for the stool, including the new wooden swivel trestle base.
