Design Week in Poland
30/09/2019 - Poland is the sixth largest furniture manufacturer in the world and third largest exporter of furniture. So it is no coincidence that Warsaw Home is becoming one of the largest interior design fairs in Europe. The fourth edition will take place this week from 3–6 October.

More than 500 exhibitors plus interesting side events, like the Design Forum and Warsaw Design week, will make the fair a meeting-place for everyone hungry for new products from the world of design and architecture.

Design Forum

Lectures and discussion panels to be held as part of the Design Forum 2019 conference will refer to the slogan of this year's Warsaw Home trade fair — “I am”.

This year’s edition will see the third appearance of Karim Rashid also known as the Prince of Plastics. Other special guests are Job Smeets from Studio Job, Marcus Fairs, editor-in-chief of “Dezeen” and a list of well-known international designers: Stefan Diez, Luca Nichetto, Christophe Pillet, Matteo Cibic, Matti Klenell, Nelson Ruiz-Acal, Cate Högdahl, Richard Hutten, Jaime Beriestain, Daniel Svahn, Sylvain Villenz, Jakub Pollág, Václav Mlynář and David Trubridge.

On the Design Forum stage they will discuss topics such as the idea of sustainable development in design, co-living or biofeeling. All of them subtly refer to the main theme of this year's fair — “I am”. The organizers’ intention behind this slogan is to suggest a shift in focus to building one’s own role in the community, inviting active participation, dialogue and a conscious approach to design.

Each day the Design Forum has a different theme. The first day of the conference will be devoted to the awareness of the changes taking place (“I am conscious”). On Friday we will discuss responsibility in the process of designing (“I am responsible”). Saturday's lectures — as befits a weekend — will be about designing with good mood in mind (“I am well').

Poland Design Festival

Since the first edition of the fair, next to the Design Forum, the Poland Design Festival has been held as a celebration of local companies producing in small series. This year the IDEAS exhibition, a space for young designers, will showcase their prototypes and help them to get in touch with possible producers and important design brands.

Warsaw Build

As this years novelty, Warsaw Build will supplement the fair for the first time with international building and interior finishing materials. The expo is a response to the investment boom in Poland and was created especially for architects, real estate developers, contractors, investors and all lovers of construction, finishing materials, designs, and building innovations. Warsaw Build will share a common hall with Warsaw Home (hall B).
