Devon&Devon Unveils its Secret Garden

25/06/2022 - Nature and imagination, the familiar and the unexpected mix in Secret Gardens by Devon&Devon, a new collection of wall coverings, furniture and accessories designed by Marcel Wanders Studio. During Milan Design Week 2022, Secret Gardens was previewed at the historic Flagship Store in Via San Marco, transformed into an imaginative secret garden for the occasion. Marcel Wanders, Founder of Marcel Wanders Studio, and Gabriele Chiave, Creative Director of the office, talked to us about the inspiration for the project in a video interview.
 

 
"The project is inspired by the definition of the bathroom," says Marcel Wanders, "which has always been the most intimate and personal place in the home, a kind of secret 'sanctuary'. Hence the name of the collection - Secret Gardens."
 
Wallpapers, ceramic plates, a vanity table, three mirrors and ceramic objects. Secret Gardens by Devon&Devon is a complete collection for the bathroom and other rooms in the home. Designed with a poetic and holistic approach, every element is covered in seamless graphic motifs. Side by side, the objects generate immersive settings that give shape to dreamlike spaces. "Secret Gardens sums up what we most associate with the Devon&Devon DNA," explains creative director Gabriele Chiave. "It is a collection that reinterprets traditional iconic pieces - like the vanity table or the modular tripartite mirror - in a more current and contemporary key".
 
"After all, we can't forget the past," adds Marcel Wanders, "we must celebrate it. For the present and the future!"

The Secret Gardens wall coverings by Devon&Devon

Devon&Devon's Secret Gardens collection includes wallpapers and ceramic slabs. The decors are available in 4 different graphic variants - Blossom, Zen, Urban and Garden of Dreams - each in different colours.

Marcel Wanders Studio presents us with the unexpected with the dreamlike Garden of Dreams wallpaper, creating a highly imaginative landscape that challenges our idea of reality and takes us deep into another dimension.

With Urban, Marcel Wanders Studio created a wallpaper that stylises and celebrates the familiar and unexpected beauty of the fabric of social cohesion that touches the heart of the city.

The Vanity Table and Mirror Secret Gardens

Available in 7 designs and tones, the Vanity Table designed by Marcel Wanders Studio for the Secret Gardens collection is a simple piece of furniture clad in a seamless flow of dreamlike textures that transform its rationalist design into an entirely unexpected visual experience. The wood frame is covered with a hand-applied vinyl film.

The Secret Gardens collection also includes a modular triple-glass mirror (available in full-length, half-length and individual) that visually recalls triptychs and multi-paned arched windows in a contemporary take on the theme with clean lines and a fantastic design on the back.

The final elements in the Secret Gardens collection are a velvet and brass pouf and a range of curved and exquisitely detailed ceramic accessories that cast their magic on everyday life.
