08/11/2023 - Fold Out is the outdoor addition to the Fold collection, designed by product designer Andrea Gelpí of Blaumel Studio for Alma Light. The rechargeable, battery-operated, wireless, autonomous and portable "lantern", with an energy autonomy of up to six hours, can move between indoor and outdoor environments, to be placed on the ground, on lawns, by the pool or on tables - just about anywhere!
The perforated metal structure of the lamp, available in metallic (bronze or gold lacquered) and lacquered (black, white, corten) finishes, resembles a miniature vault topped by a basket-like handle. The light filtered through the perforations creates different atmospheres, helped out by the dimmable LED light source. Fold Out is available in 45 cm and 30 cm sizes, allowing users to tailor their lighting to specific occasions, moods and requirements.
Fold is not the first project that Andrea Gelpí has designed for Alma Light. The equally versatile Ophelia, with its adjustable and rotatable petal-like shade/slats, also allows the user to play with countless configurations. This kind of adaptability seems to be one of the hallmarks of the designer's work, responding to today's demand for multifunctional and flexible furnishings that can respond to changing life and work styles.
