Talent by Actiu, designed by Marcelo Alegre from Alegre Design, is a range of tables that is defined by being foldable, height-adjustable and mobile and that has been designed and manufactured to foster collaboration and learning in all types of Agile spaces and environments, whether traditional offices, the home office, educational institutions or third spaces in which these uses merge together.
1. Actiu, TalentTalent is thus one of the four products nominated in the Industrial Design category of the DesignEuropa Awards, along with the Aperio H100 door handle (Sweden), the Philips IntelliVueXe X3 portable monitor (Netherlands) and the John Deere 8 Series tractors (United States).
The eight finalist designs - four in the Industrial Design category and four in the Small and Emerging Companies category -, represent the best of European industrial and product design and span diverse industries such as healthcare, advanced engineering, automation solutions, furniture, lighting outdoor appliances, security and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Talent's technical innovation allows its height regulation system to work without an electrical connection. An easily accessible button activates the gas piston that regulates both the rising and lowering of the work surface in a very subtle and smooth movement, in which it is the user who determines the height. Its quality and safety is backed by the German GS (Geprüfte Sicherheit) certification.
2. Actiu, TalentThe winners of the different categories will be announced on October 19 at the awards ceremony, which will take place in the city of Eindhoven (Netherlands), where the Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to one of the most influential industrial designers, André Ricard.
The DesignEuropa Awards, which are celebrating their third edition this year, are organised by the EUIPO to acknowledge products and their designers in the field of industrial design.
“We know that movement fosters creativity and improves productivity. With Talent, we are committed to promoting the culture of ergonomics by taking the best professional furniture anywhere thanks to its high versatility. For this reason, we are delighted to have been nominated as a finalist of such a prestigious European award that focuses on the field of industrial design", highlights Soledat Berbegal, the Counsellor and Director of Brand Reputation at Actiu.
Due to its design and characteristics, Talent meets the needs of work and learning spaces that require furniture that is easy to move, can be quickly stored away, is comfortable and height-adjustable to favour communication, training and collaborative work.
3. Actiu, Talent“Talent was conceived and designed in order to develop a table that fosters talent in dynamic training environments. Already at that time, certain trends were predicted that have now been widely implemented, such as the continuous use of technologies and agile teaching and learning methodologies. Talent was designed to favour the body's movement, to be able to be used standing and sitting, and to facilitate project presentations. And, now, that innovative approach has been recognised with this nomination", says designer Marcelo Alegre.
With its durability and multifunctionality in mind, its structure is made of highly durable extruded aluminium injection, while the surface can be painted on in its folded position to serve as a whiteboard for drawing sketches, taking notes and delivering presentations.
