15/09/2017 - Kartell will play the lead in London during the London Design Festival from September 16th to 24th, 2017 with a special installation of its latest products and a show in honour of the Componibili, on the 50th anniversary of this iconic piece created by Anna Castelli Ferrieri.

“After Milan and New York, the show dedicated to Componibili’s 50 years celebrates this special anniversary in London, too, where we opened our fi rst fl agship Store last year - says Lorenza Luti, Kartell Marketing & Retail Director. We are pleased with the collaboration with the British designers and artists who have accepted our invitation to reinterpret this Kartell icon. The London capital is a strategic international centre both for business and for its cultural and artistic crossroads role. This project allows us to reinforce our presence in the city and present our brand. The story will begin with a historic piece like the Componibili, which revolutionised the world of design, up to the latest products, born from continuous vanguard technological research, and collaboration with the most brilliant creative minds at an international level."
Visionary English designers Ross Lovegrove - whose unique style, inspired by the logic and beauty of nature, unites intelligent technology, materials and organic forms - and Ashley Hicks, international design and interior architecture protagonist with both residential and large scale projects in the United Kingdom Europe and the United States.
Also creating a special edition of Componibili will be the creative design and consulting partnership Campbell-Rey, founded by Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey in 2014 and characterised by a sense of irreverence and a playful and elegant aesthetic. Campbell and Rey debuted their furniture collection at the Salone del Mobile 2017, and have continued growing, putting the desire to elevate objects of daily use at their centre of their work through the celebration of natural materials, unexpected colours and impressive geometries.
Fran Hickman, too, will create a personal tribute to Componibili. The designer works with global level architects and designers on projects that range from residential spaces to commercial structures and furnishings. The Fran Hickman style of characterised by bespoke approach that embraces a wide vocabulary, suspended between art and design.
And again, Luke Edward Hall, artist and interior, ceramics and clothing designer will give his contribution to the project, who has become a style pole for the English capital. Luke is working on interior design projects in the English countryside, and has recently collaborated with many companies. A January 2016 article on Vogue.com describes him and “the twenty-six year old prodigy of the interior design world”.
Among the contributors was also illustrator Angelica Hicks, famous for her ironic and direct designs that tell stories from the universe of fashion and showbiz, also used by Gucci Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, for a capsule collection of limited edition T-shirts and for the creation of two murals in New York and Milan.
“The anniversary of Componibili by Anna Castelli Ferrieri is a truly special event, that brings with it many meanings, both because it tells the story of the origins and roots of Kartell, and because it has marked an absolute innovation in the history of design, becoming an icon of industrial production – says Claudio Luti, President of Kartell. Componibili are, for me, a family “object”, they have always been a part of my “living”, and when I arrived in Kartell, I immediately wanted to give this product an iconic role recognised by the market and the critics of international design who wanted it in all of the museums of the world. With “Tribute to Componibili. 50th Anniversary” we want to offer a true emotional narration, which tells of the evolutions of the product, and how it has been capable of understanding interior design and to meet immediate meet the new contemporary taste of living”.
Hosting the show and installation with the latest products created by the brand will be the Kartell Flagship Store in Brompton Road, in the heart of the London design district, with an event on Thursday, September 21st, to present the latest versions of Componibili and new Kartell innovations to the international design community.
