Geometry of Light: d'Armes @ Future Habit(at)

Gigi Collection and the Etat-des-Lieux lighting system are part of the new set at Archiproducts Milano

29/07/2021 - Studio d'Armes is making its big comeback at Milan Design Week. Exhibited at Archiproducts Milano's Future Habit(at) space at Fuorisalone, d'Armes will present its two new lighting collections: Gigi Collection and the Etat-des-Lieux lighting system

Gigi Collection
Last spring, d'Armes unveiled its Gigi collection virtually in collaboration with the Montreal glass blowing studio Verre d'Onge. You now have the opportunity to see the two handcrafted blown glass lamps standing in the Archiproducts Milano space: the Gigi Grande floor lamp and the Gigi table lamp. With their elegant geometry and refined details, the two Gigis allow themselves to be discovered, revealing themselves in alternating opacities and transparencies. Under the glass artist's breath, their different shades and gradations unfold in the material, each time in a unique way. The Gigi Collection embodies joy and infuses a touch of softness into the muted ambiance it creates.
With a desire to explore and rethink the classic glass lamp, Studio d'Armes and Verre d'Onge pushed the limits of glass to create Gigi Grande, which has monumental dimensions for this art form.

Etat-des-Lieux
Studio d'Armes is also exhibiting two configurations of Etat-des-Lieux, its new high-end lighting system with an evolving silhouette. Etat-des-Lieux has redefined suspension standards with large conductive bands supporting handcrafted blown glass globes. These bands split the landscape at a slant and vertically to construct a daring geometric horizon. It invites the designer into the creative process by letting them create a light adapted to their space by playing with height, direction, shapes and tension. Studio Salaris was enthusiast to try this system and elaborated a masterpiece adapted to the length of the stairwell in the Archiproducts Milano space. This exclusive Etat-des-Lieux creation is a must-see in the exhibition. Etat-des-Lieux won an Archiproducts Design Award in 2020.

Ra Pendant
The Ra ceiling light is a representative of the popular and iconic Ra collection. Selected by Studio Salaris to be showcased at the Future Habit(at) exhibition, it is one of Studio d'Armes's classics thanks to its versatility and the timelessness of its design. Its clean and minimal lines, as well as the use of hand-curved neon, give it unparalleled personality and presence. It takes shape like a line of light suspended in the sky, emphasizing the moment of its hypnotic halo.
