01/08/2019 - Sway lamp by Nick Rennie and Made by Pen received a prestigious Good Design Award Best in Class Accolade in the Product Design category in recognition for outstanding design and innovation.
 
The annual Good Design Awards is Australia’s most prestigious international Awards for design and innovation with a proud history dating back to 1958. The Awards celebrate the best new products and services on the Australian market, excellence in architectural design, engineering, fashion, digital and communication design and reward emerging areas of design strategy, social impact and design entrepreneurship.
 
The name Sway is derived from the floor lamp’s distinctive ‘swaying’ motion when knocked or moved. This chargeable, cordless, mobile floor lamp is designed by renowned Australian designer Nick Rennie.
 
The Good Design Awards Jury praised Sway by Made by Pen and Nick Rennie commenting: “This is a lovely design and you can tell that thought has gone into every part of the product. Innovative, neatly realised, the extent of research is evident in the outcome. The indoor/outdoor aspect is well-negotiated offering a unique portable aspect that takes this product to a whole new level. Overall, this is a beautifully resolved design with great character that will do really well in the marketplace - well done.”
