28/02/2020 - Originality, clean lines, customisation, and dialogue are the concepts that define the Intarsio system, the project conceived and designed by Garcia Cumini for Cesar.
Intarsio: Between Originality and Symmetry 2

The concept of Intarsio was inspired by the deconstruction of the two-dimensional surface of a door, aiming to dismantle and modify the final aesthetic result, both in the geometry and in the grain of the wood. The double decomposition highlights the harmonic and skilfully polished effect that Cesar is capable of creating in its treatment of wood, a traditional material that is already esteemed in and of itself, and which is further ennobled in order to lend the Intarsio system its exclusive and distinctive character.

Intarsio confirms the close attention to detail which Cesar dedicates in its creation of elegant and functional products; a combination of beauty, aesthetic sensibility, and design that identify it as a model which views the kitchen as a space that integrates into and communicates with the rest of the house. The option of combining Intarsio with the home elements (the complementary products within the Cesar catalogue) makes it possible to overcome the conventional division of spaces. The transverse nature of Intarsio, thanks to a selection of seven wood finishes that vary from a delicate Rovere Nordico to a bolder Rovere Termocotto and an original Noce Desaturato, makes it possible to create solutions of continuity between the kitchen and living areas in a single domestic environment.

The versatile identity of Intarsio and its finishes are fully expressed within the new catalogue – created under the artistic direction of Garcia Cumini, with photographs by Andrea Ferrari and styling by StudioPepe – through suggestive portraits that showcase the entire system perfectly inserted within multiple furnished contexts which are different in terms of both their choice of colours and their design.

Intarsio thus proves itself to be in captivating harmony with a home element like Gap, a piece of furniture for the living room, which is available with doors in the Intarsio range of wood finishes, for a result that is always sophisticated and elegant. Suitable also for the dining room, Intarsio can be skillfully paired with the elegant symmetry of the The 50’s wall system – the modern reinterpretation of a 1950s bookcase which, thanks to its unique structure, also makes it possible to insert ovens or storage compartments.

For a pleasant atmosphere of conviviality and sharing in one’s kitchen, Intarsio manages to create a skilful play of material and colour contrasts with the Williamsburg counter, a monolithic and compact product which combines structural strength with aesthetic simplicity. Williamsburg’s details have been specifically designed to both assist whomever is working in the kitchen and create a comfortable table around which to sit without encountering cumbersome obstacles underneath the surface.

The distinctive blend of durability and simplicity of Williamsburg bring to mind the image of a bridge with its solid lateral pilasters connected by a longitudinal element. Additional opportunities to customise are provided by Tratto and Ouverture, two alternative handles that are also available for the Intarsio cabinet doors: characterised, respectively, by a minimal thickness and by a geometric and delicate contour. Both are the first point of contact with the furniture, which lends a distinct and refined personality to the entire product.
