High Expectations by Jess DesignThe brand moves its display at imm cologne to Hall 3.1, known as the Pure Editions area, a space it will share with this year’s Das Haus exhibition. Director Maarten van de Goor explains: ‘In previous years, we had stands in Hall 11, right at the top of the exhibition centre. What we like about the new setting in Hall 3.1 on the ground floor is its open character, along with the young, dynamic companies that present themselves there’.
Responding to this year’s theme, ‘Discover interior ideas’, Jess presents its new materials to visitors of imm cologne. Its latest furniture incorporates steel elements, which are copper-plated and then aged. 'The last step is for the steel to be lacquered. The process is a natural one, with no single item being the same as another. This gives the furniture a unique look and feel.'
Jess is now also exploring fabrics to complement its leather upholstery. Combining leather with fabric gives a surprising twist to an interior, creating a luxurious and yet warm look and feel. Jess’s walnut and sand-blasted oak tabletops are equally eye-catching: 'Our lounge chairs are made of weatherproof materials so that they can be used outside. This makes it possible to extend the atmosphere created for your interior to outside areas in a natural way.'
Careless Twist by Jess DesignAdditions to the existing collection include exquisite new shades of leather, and a round bar table. However, visitors to the Jess stand will also be able to admire the company’s completely new product groups, which include coffee tables, lounge cushions and woollen rugs, made to measure and edged with a leather border. 'More and more people are asking us about entire interiors. These new products are our response to these requests. We have also added functionality: the dining chairs, armchairs and bar stools can now also rotate, offering even greater comfort.'
The imm cologne kicks off the new season of fairs. This year, Jess will also be present at the Furniture Light Fair in Stockholm, Salone del Mobile in Milan, Design District Rotterdam, M&O Paris and 100% Design in London.
