Karimoku New Standard × Arabeschi di Latte at MDW 2014

Food, Books & Furniture: Kitchen Library 02

31/03/2014 - Following last year's special event, Karimoku New Standard teams up again with the Italian food design collective Arabeschi di Latte to present ‘Kitchen Library 02’, a temporary reading lounge centered around food, books & furniture and dedicated to conviviality and inspiration in everyday life.
Accompanied by the original flavours of Arabeschi di Latte, Karimoku New Standard shows its collection and new designs by BIG-GAME and Scholten & Baijings at the newly opened showroom of JP Home, in an installation that provides a quiet retreat from the exuberant Design Week.

Arabeschi di Latte’s food concept is described with “words and foods on loan”. Just like ideas and words, food and dishes have always been transcending borders, being reinterpreted in different cultural contexts to ultimately become something new, original again. Arabeschi di Latte takes up this conception and selected classic japanese foods, that actually have their roots in the west, and bring them back to Europe, reinventing them again with local ingredients. Their creations will nourish your imagination and provide a different angle on cultural exchange.

Arabeschi di Latte. Arabeschi di Latte is an Italian food design collective founded by Francesca Sarti in 2001. Blurring the boundaries between food and design and using food as a tool to communicate, the collective, has created and exhibited a variety of food-related projects such as pop up cafés, interactive installations, special dinners and workshops around the world.
