Lapalma. Please take a seat!
14/10/2019 - In times of digital connection, waiting can be an impromptu piece of work, a lively exchange, a meeting or pure relaxation. This special space in time - the lounge environment - inspired Lapalma designers to create original, versatile and timely solutions, all styled with the utmost comfort in mind. Solutions waiting to embrace us in a contemporary airport lounge, the lobby of an elegant hotel, the halls of a museum or to furnish a contemporary living space with minimalist Lapalma style. Add

The ADD system, designed by Francesco Rota, was developed to provide an elegant, relaxed response to the rhythms of the modern workplace and convivial spaces. Comfortable and versatile, it starts from a base module which can be added to other units to create endless combinations: a bench, a two-seater sofa, front and back-facing seating, S-shaped and circular formations with seat backs facing inwards to bring people together and encourage dialogue, or facing outwards, to assure a private waiting space to each seat. Wood or Fenix side tables can be added, and accessories like charging points for mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc. incorporated.

Softer, more inviting, more homely, the ADD system also has a gentle side in the expansion of the range offering more generously-sized seating and polyurethane foam cushioning in varying densities for maximum comfort. ADD Soft looks to offer ultimate comfort. The backrest can be straight or angular for L-shaped formations or for smart two-seaters with a tub structure; the armrest can also be integrated, providing an extra, informal seat. A further variant presents the seat configured as a pouf, adding further flexibility to the project.

PLUS sofas are a jigsaw of shapes and colours, systems of combinable elements designed by Francesco Rota, as perfect in your living room as they are in lounge areas of contract spaces such as hotel lobbies. With a soft profile, the seat expands generously to accommodate the body lying down. Their versatility lies in an extremely simple attachment that reassembles the volumes and redesigns the profile.

PLUS can be big, small, whatever it needs to be to bring people together at work, at home, wherever, offering the broadest modularity and the option of incorporating a partition SCREEN. Only 82 cm high, the panel also acts as a fully functional backrest, available in tubular wood, micro-perforated sheet metal or fabriccovered. Finally, the range is completed with an armrest that can also be used as a practical table, placed between seats if need be, with a fenix or warm oak-covered top and the option of having charging points for mobile phones, tablets or laptops.

For those who want to indulge in a moment of exquisite relaxation, in an embrace that envelopes and supports the body, comforting it and protecting it, Lapalma presents the AUKI armchair, designed by Hee Welling. Like a shell, its curved shape gently opens up to create a subtle armrest. Headrest and stool complete the experience of sheer comfort and transform the chair into an elegant chaise-longue. A wide choice of bases, matching the two different types of table - square and round - enhance this perfectly versatile armchair.

Designed for elegant waiting areas in museums or shops by Shin&Tomoko Azumi, the ZA system grows and multiplies in an infinite number of variations, with modular, curved and linear seating elements. The sinuous shape, perfect for interior designs requiring circular, linear or S-shaped configurations, is an invitation to sit on both sides. The formal minimalism of the design reveals only a glimpse of the point of contact, a metal ribbon support that allows you to juxtapose the seats in a game of composition.

Finally, like stones from a river smoothed by the water, KIPU coloured poufs, designed by Anderssen & Voll, have a rounded, smooth-edge shape. In different heights, colours and shapes, and offering countless combinations, KIPU are informal, multi-purpose elements - from informal seats to footrests, work surfaces or tables - ready to bring casual charm to any contemporary space. The covers, in bright colours and different materials, are all fully removable.
