LT40. Harmonic Forms and Dimensions
17/02/2020 - David Lopez Quincoces designs LT40, Lema’s new collection of storage units and a harmonious mosaic of shapes, sizes, materials and finishes

Experimenting with new concepts and approaches, over the years the Spanish designer pursued numerous projects that reinterpret Lema‘s most characteristic furniture: the modular storage unit. With the bespoke wardrobes Kyn, Seryasse and Warm he has put the focus on surface finish and texture of various materials, including solid wood engraved with micro slats and stitched leather.

The Alamo table, the Areia chest of drawers and the Ella console table are characterized by a thin metal frame that, according to a specific functional range, supports wooden boxes, containers and shelves.

This year’s LT40 is a versatile systems with four possible configurations.  Designed in articulated compositions, LT40 reveals its strong personality even when used as a single element: Freestanding for the living area, also perfect for creating an home office corners, suspended containers for corridors. Sideboards, cupboards and wall units serving the dining area and the kitchen.

For the night area, chests of drawers and sideboards are the perfect containers able to enrich a functional wardrobe environment. Boiserie is designed to create equipped walls in the living room which in the bedroom are transformed into sophisticated headboards.

The four compositional families, freely mixed together, characterise their design together with a series of additional elements: double-fronted containers; benches and elements designed to house multimedia equipment; marble and stone top; wooden or glass container boxes; integrated LED lamp system.

The profound compositional possibility is reflected in a rich and varied mood board of materials and finishes: woods, lacquers, glass, clays, natural and reconstructed marble. The compositions are completed by full-height finishing sides and 10 mm-thick tops in full width. The internal structure is in grey velvet, an innovative ultra-matt material, velvety to the touch yet high resistance.
