Monitillo Marmi will take part at
Maison&Objet with important novelties:
Monitillo1980, an extensive design project by Monitillo Marmi that spans from home furnishing accessories to new floor and wall coverings developed in partnership with internationally renowned designers.
The Monitillo
Walls&Floors Collection is a combination of refined design and cultural contamination by international architects who have contributed to bring out the creative side of marble. The project was launched in 2016 under the creative direction of Efrem Bonacina. With Monitillo they started a dialogue with international architects and travelled through Europe to discover unique materials, colours and textures. This first edition of the Monitillo Walls & Floors features designs by Claesson Koivisto Rune, Defne Koz + Marco Susani, Emmanuel Gallina, Andrea Maffei and Chapman Taylor, the architects who were involved in the early stage of the project.
Pietre di Monitillo is a collection of stone objects, the result of a cooperation between Monitillo Marmi and international designers, from disparate experiences and language, with a shared passion for the expressive potential of the material. The stones, carefully selected by master craftsmen, are processed by numerical control technology to create sculptures for the daily life, to experience and enjoy.
Cava, Parallelo, Dedalo, Iride, Vela and Traccia by Claesson Koivisto Rune
Inspired by the most essential geometric shapes,
Cava combines traditional textures and three-dimensional effects. It is available in two sizes with a central carving that creates original light effects.
Parallelo stands out for its linear and essential motif. The tiles in seven different sizes can be installed in the same direction or in plenty other ways, thus ensuring a unique pattern for every wall. The geometry of its carvings creates elegant light effects in every room and setting.
Straight lines are protagonist of
Dedalo, a design inspired by the linear shapes of nature. Its pattern can be developed vertically and horizontally, always creating an immersive scenario. The tiles in one size and two different inclinations create dynamic serpentine shapes.
Like an expanse of precious pearls,
Iride features an extended pattern made of spheres in marble bridged by tiny, triangular inlays in steel treated with an innovative PVD coating.
The soft geometries of
Vela give life to a design where simple and contrasting shapes coexist in harmony. With three different sizes and smoothed angels, Vela offers an elegant marble atmosphere and several installation possibilities.
Simple and dynamic lines are the highlight of
Traccia, a design with oblique grooves that create three-dimensional effects. Available in two sizes, its tiles enhance the tactile experience of marble.
Punto by Andrea Maffei
“Points of reference in life. Points of a story that follow each other to create stories. Points that follow one another and compose the space. Many points chase each other for many stories“ (quoted by A. M.).
Punto is made of spherical inlays in steel placed into marble tiles that create a geometrical, sequential pattern.
Profondo by Defne Koz + Marco Susani
Profondo is characterized by circular, curve and straight carvings that create dynamic shapes and seem to be the result of breaking or cutting - this gives a sense of softness to marble, a material that in fact is renowned for its hardness. Profondo can be composed in different textures depending on whether you are looking for a more dense or delicate pattern.
Marea / Marea-more by Chapman Taylor
Resolute geometries, straight and oblique lines for an elegant outlook.
Marea brings about a vibrant pattern made of tiles in marble and steel elements.
Spacco by Emmanuel Gallina
Spacco is a wall covering system made of four modules that create different compositions and different linear patterns. Inspired by minerals, Spaco reminds of wrinkles, of the undulatory shapes that can be found in rocky landscapes. The nuances of colours combined with irregular lines create a feeling of cartographic relief. The curve lines that are carved into the marble modules come with a honed finish and thus enhance the rest of the surface with a velvet finish.
