04/02/2021 - MDF Italia presents NVL Table, the new table designed by Jean Nouvel Design and which literally takes his name. Built around simple geometric shapes, NVL Table looks like a real sculpture that marks a strong presence in space.
Defined by a scenographic and imposing basement composed of two volumes that thin upwards, NVL Table is inspired by the principle of the trilithium, a structure consisting of two vertical elements supporting a third element set horizontally. The top, thin and light, seems to float above the base, creating a play of balance and contrast.
Elegant in its simplicity, it is available in oval or round shape, and in ten different finishes: marble and reconstruted stone give the table a full-bodied, materic appearance, while the glossy and matt lacquered variants give a strong, decisive character to the environments where it is placed.
Behind the structure of NVL Tables lies a skilful work of know-how: the top is in fact equipped with a snap and hidden points for fastening to the flange below. This maintains the monolithic appearance of the table. The technical detail of the joint between top and flange is at the same time a refined aesthetic detail.
NVL Table is a project with a balanced aesthetic that recalls the stylistic elements that have always distinguished Jean Nouvel's work: pure geometric forms, formal lightness, graphicity and rigour.
