Nordic Cool in Kristina Dam's SS19 Collection
30/01/2019 - Kristina Dam focuses on an essential Nordic minimalist feel in the new SS19 collection to be presented at the Stockholm Funiture and Light Fair. Smooth finishes, understated, soft color palettes, and bold materials that evoke a raw, natural feel characterize the pieces in the collection, including tableware, prints, and an architectural sculpture. The Setomono line includes a Cup and Bowl Set, both also available as an individual item. The set consists of three pieces of tableware which stack together to create a sculptural whole, easily convertible to a table centerpiece. In each set, the lid becomes a plate to use in conjunction with the cups or bowls. All Setomono designs are glazed & burned twice for highest strength and maximum durability making the items strong and perfect for everyday use. Setomono set by Kristina Dam

This limited edition Barcelona Pavilion illustration by Kristina Dam is an abstraction of the celebrated Barcelona Pavilion designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The building was the German Pavilion for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona. The Pavilion in Barcelona is one of the most significant buildings in the history of modern architecture, known for its simple form and its spectacular use of extravagant materials: marble, red onyx and travertine. The Japanese Wood Board is a simple tray with a minimalistic look. The board stands on two oak surfaces elevating the main cutting (or serving) surface from the table. We love the way that the two different directions of the oak planks meet in this design. Japanaese Wood Board with Setomono Cup by Kristina Dam

Solid brecha marble plates lock into each other forming the Archi Sculpture. Brecha (or breccia) is a unique copper or brownish colored marble with crystalline onyx deposits and it has been used in mosaics, countertops, monuments and sculptures for centuries. Sculpted by hand, Archi honours the great German Bauhaus art school which this year celebrates 100 years. The Archi Sculpture is shipped flat-packed for users to assemble the four pieces of marble together (no tools needed) like a little LEGO sculpture.
