Novello bathroom designed by Stefano Cavazzana
04/05/2018 - During the Salone Internazionale del Bagno, Novello has presented the new collections designed by Stefano Cavazzana. Essential shapes and refined finishes characterize Quari and Craft 2.0. The Designer Sefano Cavazzana and Export Manager Monica Novello says about the new projects.
Quari is Novello’s homage to its land: its resources and know-how. Venetian handicraft tradition is recalled, above all that of master glass-workers who processed frames and glasses in squared shapes named “quari” to realize mirrors.
Two kinds of doors are available: with aluminum profile and framed. A 28 mm thick aluminum profile, silenio coloured, matches a 4 mm panel in different finishes: glass, Laminam, wood or lacquered. The aluminum boiserie links cabinets, tops and mirrors; or can be thought as single decorative elements.
A refined range of materials and finishes confirms Novello’s capability to create design and high-quality products. Good evidence of this is the chestnut wood coming from Cadore forests, or the glass that recalls the masterpieces of Venetian master glass-workers; top and door finishes call to mind Laguna colors and the design of merletti di Murano. The idea of reproducing the typical terrazzo alla veneziana (a specific Venietian floor) in wash-basins and doors is characteristic as well.
In this sense Quari is a real celebration of Venetian excellence, timeless source of inspiration for international design.
Craft 2.0 emerges from the handicraft tradition that widespread Made in Italy all over the world, but integrates new materials and processes.
Its design and volumes are essential, with different-size squared wash-basins and small, integrated handle on the door. Craft new framed door is inspired to Japanese shoji walls: it modulates the whole composition with squared shapes.
Wash-basins finishes are refined and include cement neutral tints, natural stones and Laminam shimmering shades. Cabinets Metal finish is Craft 2.0 main protagonist. Its Steel, Brass and Titan finishes offer a good alternative to Rovere (grigio chiaro, grigio scuro, termocotto, naturale and white). Metal finish realization requires the manual application of varnishes containing powders which lead to uncommon chromatic effects, similar to metal ones.
