Nur: You'll Have to Look Twice
01/03/2019 - Alice Ceramica will be at ISH to present its new washbasin Nur, characterized by inward-curved edges, and signed by Massimiliano Braconi. The negative curve of the edges of the sink creates a unique illusion. Despite the edges measuring 5mm, the curvature influences the perception to the touch and tricks the eye, 'disappearing' once viewed from above. Nur, Alice Ceramiche

The peculiar production process of the NUR washbasin requires that the casting phase be manualized - so that the detachment of plaster casts inside the sink is done manually. Since the edges of the washbasin are curved inwards, the matrix cannot be detached directly from the bottom upwards; the plaster casts must be slid inwards and removed by hand. Nur, Alice Ceramiche

The freestanding option redefines the ceramic material for an organic and sinuous, yet strong outline. Nur, Alice Ceramiche
