Rocking the Souk: Montreal’s Design Bazaar by Azamit
29/11/2018 - Founder and all-round boss lady, Azamit, with the visual storytelling firm, In Toto, take the souk to Montreal once again with souk @ sat’s fresher than cool vibes to showcase everything from the gritty underbelly to the dizzying heights of the Québécois interdisciplinary design landscape.

Now almost a rite of passage into Winter for Montreal, from November 28th to December 2nd, for its 15th edition the souk @ sat will convert the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) into a cultural idea's market of striking creations.

An eclectic gathering where connections are made, and stories are told in arresting visuals capturing all the senses, the souk @ sat extends an invitation to meet and connect directly with makers.

Its fundamental aim is to spotlight new and unique products and the creative skill behind them. In fact, in its ceaseless effort to foster and promote Montreal’s excellence, the souk @ sat is partnering once more with Tourisme Montreal to feature the best of carefully curated local creativity and design.

A passion for localness and the spirit of innovation channeled by the movers and shakers of Montreal at souk @ sat are captured in a cinematic and sensorial video produced by In Toto in collaboration with Jesse Rivière, 5 Pound Media agency and Dj Frigid. Rushing water and purposeful runners combine with the sounds of chirping birds like bustling online tweets and an amalgam of architectural styles that make up the Montreal cityscape to express the essential energy of the event. souk @ sat 2018 in Montreal

A partnership with Publicité Sauvage enabled the postering of the 15 different variations of the excellently designed affiche by Caserne.

Every year the souk @ sat selects an expert panel of jury members who are in turn commissioned with choosing the edition’s outstanding creatives and their fine products. The jury was presided over by Azamit. This year’s noteworthy jury is comprised of Alex Lesage (Threefold & Anniversary Magazine), Max Ruiz Laing (Bar Loïc), Muriel Françoise (journalist), Scott Meleskie (Clark Street Mercantile), and Trudy Crane (Lookslikewhite).
