Samsung reveals its “Retail of Tomorrow”: Big Names for a Big Undertaking
09/10/2013 - The “Retail of Tomorrow” concept was celebrating its premiere at 100% Design. With innovative shop design from Zaha Hadid Architects and a creative communication programme, Samsung Chemical Europe and further renowned cooperation partners successfully presented the new retail concept of the Swiss fashion label Heidi.com at 100% Design.

The Swiss fashion brand Heidi.com is going against the tide of well-known fashion labels: From purely online selling to a physical shop. The combination of exclusive design and material with modern, interactive communication in the first flagship store in the Swiss city of Neuchâtel turns shopping into a social and cultural event for the customer.

Renowned cooperation partners are pooling their core competences for the development and implementation of the underlying “Retail of Tomorrow” concept. Alongside the flagship store, “Retail of Tomorrow“ features a modular shop-in-shop system and an interactive customer communication programme. With Heidi.com and its cooperation partners, the latter two components were being presented by Samsung for the first time at 100% Design.

Samsung Semiconductor developed the add-ons which delight customers: From the interactive shop window to a digital “welcome” at the door and the in-store installations with interactive customer offers.

Innovative design calls for innovative materials. For the exclusive design of the interior, Zaha Hadid Architects chose STARON® Solid Surfaces from Samsung Chemical Europe. The furniture is modularly constructed and can be used flexibly for various sales scenarios: from temporary pop-up installations to shop-in-shop solutions or individual store designs. The furnishings included tables, presentation systems, interactive displays and a totem as a vertical element. The combinable tables can be used in variable heights as benches, tables or counters.

The planning and implementation of the communication programmes for the Heidi.com was undertaken by the Swiss experts from INOX Communications. Thanks to this cooperation, Heidi.com with its high-quality fashion is leaving the path taken by fashion retailers and presenting previously-unexplored multichannel sales solutions.

The former fire station in Neuchâtel provides the ideal, spacious location for the exciting flagship store. The project and the conversion of the site were supported by the Canton and the City of Neuchâtel. From the beginning of 2014, Heidi.com customers can come here to savour the modern shopping experience.
