13/09/2013 - Swedish leisure furniture brand Skargaarden showed a lot of news at this year’s spoga+gafa in Cologne, just ended. There’s the fire basket Boo and the dining chairs and tables for the Djurö range. Not to mention the Resö chair – that’s already nominated for the prestigious German Design Award (as are the chairs Oxnö and Grinda). Another new item is the small version of the Tipi lamp, made in collaboration with renowned Swedish lightning manufacturer Ateljé Lyktan.
The nominated chairs are all designed by Matilda Lindblom, a young Swedish designer. She has a highly developed sense for design and materials. Grinda, Djurö and Oxnö are three good examples of her ability to make furniture that at first glance appears simple and straight forward, but when you take a closer look, reveals intricate qualities and clever details that lifts design from purely construction to a craft.
