smarin Redefines Sitting with the sChaise
09/05/2019 - smarin presents a new therapeutic object through mecanics, the sChaise: a radical alternative to traditional seats. In support of the company's ethos, smarin will present a transdisciplinary performance for the Opening Celebration Party of WantedDesign 2019 in Brooklyn, New York. sChaise by smarin

Composed of a round steal frame and elastic straps, the sChaise has a seat that is ergonomic and flexible and gives constant comfort.
Adaptable to all body shapes, using the sChaise is simple and doesn’t require any manipulation.

The sChaise has also been thought out as a therapeutic mechanical tool. Lyse Gladieux, body gesture specialist, designed three sets of exercises each lasting five minutes. These can be achieved at any age and on a daily basis, and are simple and easy to perform. The sChaise thus favors a healthy posture, increases tonicity, and stimulates better blood circulation. sChaise by smarin

Available in four different colored frames (white, black, pink and blue) and five different colors of elastic straps, the sChaise is made in France and available on demand anywhere in the world.

Following the Microsociology theory of Erving Goffman, concerning the nature of everyday social interactions and body responses between humans, smarin will present the Bounce Station in NYC, a choreographed exhibition which invites visitors to explore and perform new ways of sitting.
