02/10/2024 - Essential in its forms and elaborated in material combinations, Awase is the Bolzan bed by he Japanese designer Omi Tahara. As suggested by the name, which in Japanese means harmonization of different elements, Its distinctive geometry, defined by straight lines and angles, refers to the Japanese traditional bed.
The focal point of
Awase is the headboard, conceived as a large decorative backdrop framing the bed: a woven “midollino” pattern is stretched over a solid wood frame. For this process, Bolzan sought the collaboration of a young artisanal company specialized in the ancient art of weaving.
Starting from a design conceived by the designer, the artisans created a unique pattern through the spaces between the weave, which, when repeated, provides a vertical decorative rhythm and a play of transparency that lightens the volumes and enhances the aesthetics of the bed.
The new Bolzan bed headboard is also available in a textile version
Awase Soft: within the solid wood frame, a panel covered with fabrics from the Bolzan collection is inserted, offering ample customization possibilities with a variety of colors, yarns, and weaves.
