28/06/2023 - The
Skynest lamp is reborn today in two new versions. Conceived as a luminous textile weave, the
Flos indoor lamp collection designed by
Marcel Wanders Studio is expanded with a ceiling version and an adjustable pendant version. Light and scenic, Skynest is composed of tubular LED lights that weave the dome-shaped structure, making it a source of light.
Skynest's construction is simple and modular. Each element is inserted between the central core and the perimeter ring thanks to special jacks that guarantee the passage of current and maintain the shape of the dome. As a result, each lighting element is easily disassembled for repair and replacement. At the end of its life, the entire lamp can be disassembled for proper recycling of each element.

The variant of the adjustable pendant
Flos indoor lamp is called
Skynest Motion. Thanks to an almost invisible stem attached to the ceiling and stretched towards the floor by a counterweight, the lamp seems to float in the air.
The suspended dome is height-adjustable thanks to a power cable that runs inside a painted steel channel, which is attached to a cable also made of steel. After adjusting the height, the suspension cable is locked to the counterweight on the ground via a special cable clamp. The dome has an integrated balancing system at the top, which allows the balance to be adjusted to make the lamp perfectly stable.
Using twist lock connectors, the luminaire is equipped with a plug-in power supply with interchangeable plugs and a foot dimmer.

Ceiling is the cordless ceiling-mounted version of Skynest, suitable for rooms with particularly low ceilings, where an even, warm light is required. The light dome includes the canopy and attaches directly to the ceiling fitting with a simple 90° rotation thanks to a T-shaped pin that supports the entire luminaire.
