23/12/2021 - The Roundish series, characterized by soft curves and gentleness, was designed by Naoto Fukasawa for Maruni, with the concept of applying roundness to the contour edges thus removing any sense of hardness from the chair and table. Roundish includes different models of seats, tables, armchairs and sofas. All the models are available in beech wood with whitish finish, in oak wood with clear, whitish or natural black finishes and in walnut wood with clear or light brown finishes.
The chair is available in three models: wooden seat, cushioned seat and fully- cushioned version. A large rounded back, together with the roundish seat, softly wraps around the body surrounding and supporting it, providing secure, comfortable and fatigue-free sitting whetherusing the chair for a long time or sitting up straight or slouching down. The gentle lines of the chairs are obtained thanks to the combination of Maruni highly technological production processes and abilities of skilled artisans specialized in woodworking.
The cushioned chair version includes a textile or leather seat, designed to provide a sense of unity with the backrest and seat and available in many colou shades. The cushioned model features both back and seat with textile or leather upholstery.
Roundish armchair is characterised by the softly curved back and seat that welcomes the body, as well as smooth arms that gently support the elbows. The shape of the chair, obtained through the usage of advanced woodworking techniques, appears as created from a single swath of thin board that has been wrapped around and connected. This enveloping shape, ensures maximum comfort and allows to use the armchair as both lounge chair or dining chair.
Also the sofa models feature the round and gentle design that characterises the entire Roundish collection, presenting sleek smoth lines. The elegant and luxurious back cushion perfectly welcomes and fits the back of the users ensuring great comfort and holding the body in a cozy way in every sitting postures; it is possible to lean back deeply with the arms on the back of the sofa, or sit on the corner and enjoy the sensation of the body and arms being completely wrapped around.
The simple yet elegant lines of the sofas and their excellent level of comfort, make them suitable for domestic or contract spaces, as well as places dedicated to hospitality.
The tables are characterized by a wooden round top, available in different sizes: a coffe table model, with a round top, and an oval top version produced in three different measures (160, 200, 240). The lovely elliptical shape, which connects multiple curved lines, creates a mellow and relaxed ambiance that allows this table to fit perfectly in any setting, both domestic and dedicated to retail or hospitality. Paired with the chair or armchair models of the same series, the table creates a sense of gentleness that projects a feeling of relaxation throughout.
