31/05/2024 - The new Bolzan bed collection, which also includes bedside tables and chests of drawers for the bedroom, combines industrial dimension and artisanal approach. New projects, reissues, and extensions of existing collections developed in collaboration with design curators Zanellato/Bortotto and in partnership with designers Zaven, Studiocharlie, Studio Omi Tahara, and Federico Angi.

The common thread tying the new collections together is "Tailored Dreams", a theme referring to tailoring, the pursuit of quality materials, and essentially artisanal and environmentally conscious craftsmanship. Two particular material languages are explored through the new collections: decorative weaving and the world of wood.

Drawing inspiration from extensive experience in textile production, Bolzan has conceived the new in-house joinery as a fashion atelier where wood is treated like fabric, shaping surfaces that mimic the softness of textile drapes, as seen in Rideaux, the dresser family designed by Zanellato/Bortotto featuring undulating ash fronts replicating the sinuous design of Roman shades.  The theme of wood is central to the two beds developed by BolzanLab: Nest, a nest-like bed characterized by curved lines and concave, embracing wooden surfaces, and Tata, a solid wood bed upholstered in leather representing a balance between sophisticated technological processes with advanced machinery and tailoring techniques. The theme of weaving is developed in the Japanese-inspired Awase bed by Studio Omi Tahara, where the headboard is resolved with a hand-woven rattan pattern, and in Jack-e Intreccio, an innovative version of the bed by Zanellato/Bortotto, which enhances the essential design of the structure with a headboard and footboard intricately woven in brown paper cord. Bolzan also revisits the sofa bed typology with Mate by Zaven, a model characterized by maximum transformation simplicity that balances the two functions, ensuring comfort without compromising on elegance and expressive contemporary design.  Abside by Studiocharlie is the new metal storage bedside table that expresses the search for formal essentiality and reveals its functionalities in movement.  Finally, Dominc Marble by Federico Angi introduces marble among the finishes in which the family of bedside tables is expressed, paying homage and referencing Le Corbusier's design approach for the realization of maison Dom-ino. The 2024 collections stand out for their choice of natural and recyclable materials—certified woods, natural black anodized aluminum, natural padding—projects designed for both individual and environmental well-being, with attention to durability and disassembly.
