21/10/2022 - Among the protagonists of Orgatec 2022 the new Emu outdoor furniture, solutions designed for every style and contract environment thanks to their transversal design, the variety of materials and the numerous colors available. Some of the best-known international designers including Sebastian Herkner, Andreucci & Hoisl, and Pio and Tito Toso, have collaborated with EMU in creating the latest proposals for 2023, the result of new natural and sustainable multi-material studies.

The Twins collection by Sebastian Herkner plays with materials; it contains two twin versions, each with its own identity. The first is entirely made of 100% FSC teak, simple and natural; the other, original and unique, is the result of an interesting mix of materials between teak and one of the main components of EMU products: aluminium. In this version, which comes from the perfect combination of the designer’s experience and EMU’s know-how, the aluminium edges underline the shapes, creating a perfect harmony with the teak structure. The distinctive trait of Twins is the ability to enhance the softness of wood by eliminating its angularity through a continuous line concept: the result is a chair with round and sinuous shapes that welcomes and embraces. A complete collection, which overcomes the boundaries between outside and inside and creates perfect environments and settings, both through the twins themselves and by mixing playfully and functionally with other materials, products, designs, and styles. Twins offers dining chairs with and without armrests, lounge armchairs, sofas, and tables, as well as a wide range of fabrics and upholstery that can customize seats and backrests.

Terra is a generously sized folding lounge chair, which can migrate from the sea to the land, from the inside to the outside, and vice versa. Camaleon, designed by Andreucci&Hoisl, is a multifunctional and customizable modular system that, thanks to the various overlapping structures, allows you to freely create multiple compositions, thus obtaining planters, containers, dividers, and shelves in metal and teak. Depending on your needs, you can also choose both the number and type of the individual elements that will compose the various configurations. Finally, the coupling systems between the structures guarantee maximum stability in any situation.

Coupole, made up of steel chairs and barstools, is a contemporary reinterpretation of the homonymous and historic best seller, entrusted to the EMU Research and Development Centre. The distinctive pattern of its backrest takes inspiration from the shapes of the Brunelleschi's Dome.

Reel, design Pio e Tito Toso, is a “rocking sofa” that transforms into a large and comfortable daybed, since the backrest can be easily adjusted according to need. The sunshade which completes it, similarly tilting and adjustable, allows the light to naturally and delicately filter through, ensuring utmost relaxation. The concept underlying Reel’s design is the curve, like the curve of a smile inviting you on an intimate and relaxing journey far from the chaos and stress of the everyday life that surrounds us. Reel invites us to play and be gently rocked, in a constant balance between formal continuity, elegance, and comfort of use.
