22/06/2022 - Presented at Milano Design Week 2022 the new Luceplan decorative lamps created by Mandalaki Studio, Meneghello Paolelli, Daniel Rybakken, Pio&Tito Toso and Alessandro Zambelli. The central focus is on innovative and sustainable technical and aesthetic solutions, offering a novel experience and sensation of comfort in the use of the luminous object, generated by materials and forms to produce exceptional luminous and acoustic effects.

The new products for 2022 include J-us by Alessandro Zambelli, an original vision of the traditional chandelier with arms in which technological innovation, research on materials and new solutions for the conduction of electricity are completely hidden from view. The central structure with a cylindrical form, 30 mm in diameter, contains an original electrified track on which to attach the very slim arms of the lamp. The latter are made with a layered material usually applied in the production of electronic circuits, permitting practical, functional conduction of current. The built-in LEDs offer a warm, welcoming glow, suggesting the memory of candlelight. The chandelier comes in various configurations, thanks to the possibility of positioning multiple levels of arms on the central structure, and of increasing the diameter and height, attaching a second ring of arms to the inner array. In terms of luminous and acoustic comfort, the new Koinè designed by Studio Mandalaki in a sound-absorbing version expands an already varied and versatile catalogue for this sector. The high level of technological and luminous performance of the suspension lamp is now boosted by another innovative feature: the reflector becomes a cap in 60% recycled felt, which plays a decorative role while reducing acoustic reverberation. For the Fuorisalone 2022, Koinè expands to become a true family: Luceplan also presents the new colors white, red and blue, and range extensions that include table and floor versions and the mini suspension model (also known as the cluster, ideal for the contract sector). Another protagonist of Fuorisalone 2022 is the Across suspension lamp, the result of the company’s first collaboration with the studio Pio & Tito Toso: a versatile, dynamic lamp composed of three interconnected axes of different sizes, capable of creating compositions of variable appearance and complexity. The built-in LED light source can be easily removed and replaced by the user, in keeping with the tenets of the circular economy. The structure is formed by an extruded horizontal body that contains an optical grouping for direct light, and two hinged elements that function as tie-rods, permitting attachment of the lamp to the wall or ceiling. With its adaptability, the model makes it possible to create new configurations, responding to different types of technical and stylistic needs. The tie-rods, if placed perpendicular to the support base, give the lamp a rigorous form and profile, while when set at an angle they produce a more dynamic, energetic look. The LED light source – slightly recessed in the central element – lights the space below in a uniform, glare-free way. The body of the lamp, in turn, is struck by the light in a different way, depending on the positioning of the components, giving rise to elegant effects of contrast. Across lamp by Pio & Tito Toso 4

The new products for 2022 include Millimetro design by Daniel Rybakken: halfway between a suspension and a ceiling lamp, it features a very thin circular reflecting disk (as the name says, just 1 mm thick) to produce enveloping, warm light that spreads from below up to the ceiling. The project stems from Daniel Rybakken’s suggestion to create a lighting solution that would play with an effect, aimed upward and cast from above, thanks to a reflecting surface that generates a different perspective on the surrounding space. The lamp is formed by a metal disc with a mirror-lapped surface (diameter 85 cm) and a support structure available in natural brass or cobalt blue. The LED module is placed above the disk and protected by a screen that projects diffused, uniform light without creating shadows. Millimetro lamp by Daniel Rybakken 5

In the area of range extensions, for Fuorisalone 2022 Luceplan has presented the wall version of the DOI family designed by Meneghello Paolelli: DOI Wall. This lamp conserves the characteristic design of the series, but with a different project approach: the structure is composed of two parts (two cylinders of differing diameter and length), which in this case do not interact through magnetism, as in the suspension lamp, but thanks to a mechanical joint. The part at the wall (wider and shorter) can be rotated, while the cylinder (longer and narrower) containing the spotlight can be adjusted as desired. This allows the LED light source to move freely, thus aiming the light to perform various functions: on the wall or on the ceiling. DOI lamp by Meneghello Paolelli 6

New colors will be available for Luthien by Monica Armani (pearl, powder and sand), as well as a festive red for the iconic Counterbalance by Daniel Rybakken, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2022, after winning the Compasso d’Oro ADI in 2014.
