"When developing Olio into a 2-3 seater, we really looked into the perfect distance sitting for two people who may not know each other or three who are happy to cosy up together – it’s a fine line," state Sarah Gibson & Nicholas Karlovasitis (Gibson Karlo, brand founders)DesignByThem, Olio sofa
Designed for office and home use, the sofa's open structure and sweeping curves recall modernist objects such as Eileen Gray's Bibendum Chair, the Siège Pivotant by Charlotte Perriand, and later rounded 1970s pop design seating icons. Its sense of fluidity derives from the carefully composed contours, the two cylindrical components forming the back and armrests, and the deep seat supported by the tubular steel structure. The simple yet playful geometry creates a balance between the curved, upholstered surfaces and the linearity of the frame.

"Focusing on the organic contours of the human figure, the Olio armchair is designed to emphasise the relationship between form and support. The continuity of curved and cylindrical components provides a softly sculpted cohesion and playfulness that highlights an intricate yet minimal design," reflects designer Christina Bricknell.DesignByThem, Olio sofa
The versatile form of the Olio Sofa is complemented by the tactile luxury of Kvadrat Maharam fabrics, available in a wide range of materials from polyester to nylon, wool and polyester, and colours from neutrals to deep earthy reds, mustards and greens.
