Very Wood Furnishes the New Hotel by Patricia Urquiola

21/12/2022 - The Very Wood contract armchairs furnish the Laguna Faro Suites in Grado, a new hotel that revolves around the concepts of relaxation and privacy, inaugurated at the beginning of summer and shaped by the professionalism of the Archest architecture studio, and the Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola.
 
There is a close relationship between architecture and the land: indeed, the inspiration comes from the dialogue between man and nature. The colourful world of Grado Island is represented in each of its spaces in a mixture of colours that fade from earthy hues towards blue, via bright shades of green, complemented by the memory of the actions of man, who has adapted his habits and technologies to his surroundings.
 
Interpreting the changing needs of guests staying in the hotel, Patricia Urquiola designed the interior of the Laguna Faro as a particularly well-maintained retreat, flooded with light and uniquely designed, drawing inspiration from Casoni (traditional fishermen’s houses) and bringing typical materials from the lagoon landscape into the interior, as well as warm colours and stylish furnishings.

The dining armchairs from the Zant collection and the Zantilam lounge chairs by Very Wood, conceived by the Spanish designer, lend character to the 34 rooms and suites. The inviting shapes and strong personality of the chairs, which are available in black lacquered ash with upholstery in neutral-coloured fabric or natural ash with dark upholstery, help to create the right atmosphere of relaxation and well-being. Zant and Zantilam share a structure composed of steam-curved ash, a technique that produces varied curvature in the wood and makes each product unique, revealing the material’s most poetic nature. Patricia Urquiola’s design approach can also be recognised in the bistro spaces of the Laguna Faro Suites, conceived with a focus on fluidity to give the dining areas form, spirit and function. The flawless aesthetics of the bar stool and the dining armchair from the Zantilam collection, in soft shades of natural ash paired with light-coloured upholstery, also fit into this setting, gracefully and simply furnishing the breakfast areas.
