05/09/2024 - On the Mykonos coast, the Lovia Hotel has used the Milos collection, Jean-Marie Massaud's first collaboration with Vondom, to create outdoor spaces that immerse guests in the island's tranquil atmosphere.
Each piece in the collection - from sunbeds with their curved lines to loungers with their tactile surfaces - reflects the harmonious relationship between design and nature. Inspired by rocks smoothed by wind and waves, Massaud aimed "to bring to Vondom a non-Cartesian planning that can be combined organically, like life on a reef".
The collection, which won the Red Dot Design Award 2024, sits low to the ground with rectangular, thick and comfortable upholstered seats resting on an aluminium 'tray' supported by simple, sturdy Iroko wood bases with clean lines and blocky legs with no visible ornamentation. The aluminium is available in a wide range of colours, complemented by the Glad Desert upholstery in a vast array of shades and textures. The quality materials withstand the elements, making the furniture ideal for an outdoor Mediterranean lifestyle.
