13/01/2020 - The bathroom according to Alape focuses on curated living spaces. With the increasing demand for expressive interiors, the washplace has taken on an important role as an essential design element. The Steel19 and Piccolo Novo series guest washstands extend the product range for small bathrooms. Whether functional or expressive, both new products offer a compact solution of the highest standard. With their strong character, the Steel19 and Work.Frame washstands introduce exciting design into the main bathroom. Aqua and Terra, in contrast, bring both harmonious and strongly contrasting colour tones as well as unique haptics and depth effect into play.
STEEL19 - design: sieger design
Steel19.L brings industrial charm to the main bathroom. After the guest bathroom version, a larger variant of the charismatic washplace now finishes off the range. Inspired by the “Urbanity” and “Manufacture” themes, Steel19 meets the demand for contrast-rich design concepts with authentic products expressing a personal lifestyle.
It is not just the name of Steel19.L that is reminiscent of Bauhaus – its function and design are deeply rooted in this influential movement, too. It brings the pragmatism of the classic bucket sink typical of its era into contemporary bathrooms. Made of one single piece of steel, the washstand cover and back wall with seamlessly integrated basin mould features a high-contrasting steel frame. A generous counter space is provided through the custom-fit shelf made of grey safety glass.
Steel19.L can be fixed to the wall with little planning required. When assembling the complete solution made up of washplace and tap fitting, only the wall mounting and angle valve connection are required on-site. The washplace is available with right or left mould as required. The overflow integrated into the mould and the open/closed function completes the range of new functions.
Piccolo Novo - design: Busalt Design
With the market launch of “Piccolo” in 1997, Alape created the first filigree product made from 3 millimetre steel for the small bathroom or powder rooms, which is utilised as a functional solution for small floor layouts. “Piccolo Novo” is the new edition of the popular classic. The washstand design has been optimised: The washstand introduces a modern adaptation of the functions, current colours and optimised proportions. The striking washbasin bowl, made from 3 mm glazed steel, characterises the visual appearance and made the multi-talent for small bathrooms into an icon. With Piccolo Novo, this line is being systematically continued without neglecting the roots of the product: A flush plug, the harmonious integration of the basin into the console and marginally updated dimensions ensure an overall finer outline of the silhouette.

Irrespective of the floor plan, Piccolo Novo enables a maximum degree of flexibility in planning. The dimensions of the washbasin (W/H/D 55cm/40cm/32 cm) are ideal for every powder room. Depending on the layout, especially in door areas, the basin can be positioned on the left or on the right. The shelf space is sufficient for soap, lotion or accessories and the integrated towel holder completes the scope of functions. The design siphon, which is also included, ensures a stylistically suitable image.

As a result of the constantly changing style trends in the smallest bathrooms, the importance of colours is permanently increasing: The console of Piccolo Novo is therefore available in four different colour versions.
WORK.FRAME - design: sieger design
Work.Frame focuses on the functionality of the washplace whilst offering impressive and versatile use options. In versions Work.Frame20 with elegant 20 mm cover in a variety of designs and Work.Frame100 with compact 100 mm high glazed steel washstand, the concise unit offers a refreshing re-interpretation of the washplace.
Work.Frame brings the material advantages to the forefront and unites precision and perfection in a characteristic design. Available in five different versions, the washplace is ideal for interiors based on a minimalistic, architecturally clear design. In addition to a functional counter space, Work.Frame has a black siphon cover, behind which the bottle trap and angle valves elegantly disappear.
Simple mounting rounds off the overall concept. Two holes are all that is required to securely fix Work.Frame – the glazed steel cover is invisibly fastened to the steel frame. The frame is floor-standing. In order to leave space for any existing skirting tiles, there are no rear feet. A height adjuster is used to align the feet horizontally. The washplace has a shelf made of grey safety glass.
Analogies from nature provided the inspiration for the Aqua surface series: the depth of the ocean and the colour of the water. Together with the bowl form, the new glaze evokes an extraordinary optical depth which can normally only be achieved by glass. The flow in the basin, which is created during the manufacturing process, changes slightly each time, so that each basin is unique. The effect is elicited through a specific proportion of clear enamel in the glaze which, in combination with the iridescent colouring, lends the basin a special optical depth. The glaze thereby has a uniform maximum thickness of 0.3 mm. As a result of the elaborate manufacturing process, unique pieces are created which, depending on the incident light and surrounding materials, constantly take on a different appearance.
The surface of water changes within an exceptional colour palette; it is never static, and therefore unique. Three colour nuances have emerged from this inspiration: Deep Blue, Deep Green and Deep Indigo. The bowl basin is the perfect shape-provider for the glaze, as only through the interplay between colour, feel and shape can unique surfaces be created. Each colour tone corresponds to the tactile characteristics of the material, which are precisely determined during the course of elaborate processes. Deep Blue leaves the impression of gazing into a small ocean, whilst Deep Green plays with the exuberance of water and Deep Indigo represents the depth of the sea. Aqua transforms every bathroom into an oasis.
Terra bowl basins capitalise on the earthing effect of finest particles. They also captivate with their mineral impact and are reminiscent of the sand you feel under your feet when strolling along the beach. Even before you touch the new surface, you can sense its velvety and warm feel. Despite its characteristic powdery haptic, the surface is non-porous and hygienic.
The bathroom is a particularly private space; washing is a particularly intimate moment, in which we allow our clothes to fall. Here, the texture of surfaces, in especially their haptics, has a special meaning. Terra is available in four matt, grey-nuanced colours, which are based on the primary colours. With their colouration, they support the sensually pleasant haptics and allow both harmony and reciprocal dominance with the surrounding materials.
