12/12/2022 - The direct influence of a master like Carlo Scarpa, Factum is the new collection of wooden floors designed by Dante Oscar Benini and Luca Gonzo for Listone Giordano brand. A Latin term, Factum, an ancient name to define a need for aesthetic spirituality that is highly topical in modern times.

"The Carlo Scarpa teachings have remained as indelible scars on my soul", confirms Dante Oscar Benini, "and each of his signs, in each of his works, passes through my mind when I am about to put pen to paper, even though I am aware of the responsibility I have in translating a thought into something that will become material and socially useful. The "scarpian signs" are withering: either you catch them or you have no soul. However, if you catch them, worlds open up to be explored. After a meeting with Mr. Margaritelli, after his extraordinary flight over the ideals of Listone Giordano, the challenge of trying to design a new dream was unleashed.

And here Scarpa's images resurfaced and stopped at the massif of the door of the IUAV in Venice, "the massif" split in the right corner gave rise to organic compositional inspirations, which I re-read in all the preparatory sketches of the "master"; hence our experiments, mine and Luca's, to transform a thought into a parquet full of spirituality and infinite composition that would leave the designer or the end user the possibility of having a formal and chromatic unicum, without in any way affecting industrial production, which in fact has a historical artisanal matrix that will never be lost. Factum is made up of three elements that make up the quadrotta, each of which can be interpreted in different colour variations or even in monochromatic versions, as in the square element, which can rotate freely and where the insert also aspires to become a different material. And, in turn, the squares can be placed side by side to create surface patterns with infinite compositions and rhythms that extend to become rugs or paintings that are always different.

With Factum, the floor rises up to the wall and thus also becomes a boiserie, completing an ideal circuit in every room of the house.
