28/01/2022 - Piet Boon is ready to launch a sequel to the outdoor collection launched last spring: unveiled Timme and Bente, the two new collections to enjoy life en plein air.
The new outdoor collections harmonize perfectly with Studio Piet Boon’s design philosophy and other outdoor pieces; a balance between functionality, aesthetics and individuality. With the use of teak wood, the curved detailing in both collections emphasize a refreshed design approach on the traditional Piet Boon touch, while maintaining the their unmistakable identity.
Timme. The Dining Area Moves Outdoors
After the monumental and robust outdoor furniture pieces, Piet Boon adds a lighter outdoor dining series to the collection. Inspired by elegant simplicity, the studio deliberately chose to expose all elements and refined joints. This makes TIMME a straight forward addition to the Piet Boon outdoor collection. This collection uses a less bulky design for greater flexibility, and consists of a teak dining table in various sizes, a dining chair (with and without armrests) and benches for a more playful dining setting. Due to its lighter appearance, the collection fits well in smaller outdoor spaces like terraces and patios.
In contrast to the NIEK collection where the legs are wider at the bottom, this new collection takes on a design where the legs are tapered towards the inside of the chairs. Even though the chairs all have luxurious cushions upholstered with the high performance fabrics of the Piet Boon collection, the chairs are designed to look elegant without cushions too. When required, the dining setting can be extended by combining several tables; the convieniently placed legs allow users to place tables next to each other without any gaps.
Bente. Relaxi al fresco
The BENTE is the first upholstered lounge series in the Piet Boon outdoor collection. The collection consists of two complete sofas in fixed sizes, open sofa elements, a coffee table, an armchair and a pouf. The pouf can transform the armchair into a sunbed, and the open-end sofa elements can be combined with a coffee table to create a corner sofa setting.
Where the exisiting Piet Boon outdoor collection utilizes angular lines, the BENTE opts for rounded edges on all the wooden parts and softened details on the back and armrests. The coffee table can serve as an element to create a corner setting. Taking the comfort of indoors to the outside living space, reflects the design of the Studio Piet Boon vision on functionality and comfort.
