07/04/2022 - New shapes, different uses and infinite possibilities: the
Valentina collection by
Diabla has redefined the classic canons of the
outdoor living room. Today it evolves and the iconic
Alejandra Gandía-Blasco collection rises from the ground thanks to the addition of serrated legs: here is the
Valentina Up collection.
The design of the collection, conceived by
Alejandra Gandía-Blasco for
Diabla, gives back to the cushion its protagonist role:
“Historically this element was used as furniture or seat without structure, but over time, it became a purely decorative element. With Valentina, I wanted to return to the cushion the importance it had in other times”, says Alejandra.
This
outdoor living room composed by sofas, chaiselongue and side tables rise from the floor thanks to the addition of serrated legs.
Valentina Up was born in this way.
“The technical and ergonomic requirements of these pieces are very different, it was impossible to elevate the entire collection to improve ergonomics. Thus, I added V-shaped leg frames of the same radius as the curves of the original structure to the base of one of them, this funny detail reminds the animal world”, explains the designer.
The sofa, chaiselongue and lounge chair by
Valentina Up stay true to their origins—the two fluffy and generous foam cushions made of polyurethane and viscoelastic padding are completely adaptable to the body. The new edition is the answer to a need, improving the ergonomics of the furniture, after elevating its lightweight rod structure, this makes the actions of sitting and getting up much smoother, for a perfect outdoor living room.
Meanwhile, the two Valentina Up tables use the same materials as their predecessors: aluminum for the table top welded to the structure made with galvanized steel rod. However, they acquire a more singular and assertive presence thanks to the original legs and the thickness of the solid aluminium sheet that forms the surface.
“The Valentina Up collection is perfect for enjoying the outdoors throughout the year and can also find a place for itself inside the house thanks to its ergonomics, and its colorful, casual but also simple nature. The important thing is the experience”, concludes Alejandra.
