Vibia Luminaires for a Boutique Barcelona Hotel
12/10/2021 - Located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gracia neighborhood, Hotel La Casa Del Sol combines contemporary comforts and antique charm. The hotel is housed in an 1854 building that features fully refurbished interiors coupled with historic elements such as exposed ceiling beams and ar- ched windows. The designers outfitted the space with clean-lined, modern furnishings and a selection of lighting by Vibia. Vibia, La Casa del Sol_Photo: Oriol Alella

In the dining and bar areas is Arik Levy’s Wireflow Freeform pendant. The fully personalisable hanging lamp is crafted of black electrical cables that are capped with LED light terminals for an industrial yet ethereal feel.

In the bar area, a row of Wireflow pendants lines the wall, each fit with a single, low-hanging cable that brightens the lounge with their lean, elegant look.

A group of Freeform fixtures also illuminates the dining area. Attached from a central canopy, fine cables branch out across the ceiling then drop downward in a crisp right angle. Together they create a delicate web of light that that brightens the tables below. Vibia, La Casa del Sol_Photo: Oriol Alella

The outdoor spaces feature the Meridiano fixture by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal. Formed from an open-slot, spherical steel shade, the LED-powered luminaire yields a radial sunburst pattern of shadow and light. Vibia, La Casa del Sol_Photo: Oriol Alella

At the entrance gate, a Meridiano wall lamp greets guests, casting a warm, welcoming glow that reinforces the hotel’s name emblazoned next to it. Vibia, La Casa del Sol_Photo: Oriol Alella

The sconce also appears on the terrace, its steel rods generating a spoke-like display of light that reaches far beyond its architectural base. Nearby, the Meridiano floor lamp is positioned next to the lounge chairs. Topped with foam and featuring a flat surface, it doubles as a stylish side table or stool. Beneath its cover, the spokes create a dramatic striped effect of light and dark that spreads across the deck.  Vibia, La Casa del Sol_Photo: Oriol Alella
