Once Milano, an Italian company that combines dedication to excellence and creative vision, crafts garment-dyed linens in nuanced and natural colours for the home. The linen collections
are the precious product of the synergy between craftsmanship firmly rooted in the national territory and a particular sensitivity towards the harmony of colours. Once Milano items are inherently refined and elegant. An example are the quilts that stand out for the softness of the wadding and the precise finishes made by skilled hands, as well as the napkins embellished with the finest macramé that denote the rigour and attention with which the lace is attached. This sartorial approach allows Once Milano to offer items made-to-measure in size and colour, and can be further personalised with monograms and embroideries, always keeping an eye on the practical aspect: garment-dyed linen does not require ironing. With respect for nature and full awareness of the importance of sustainability, Once Milano uses selected suppliers who share the same ideals, using exquisite Italian (90%) and European (10%) natural materials designed to age elegantly. In the production of the collections, Once Milano minimises transport, waste and warehousing and also adopts and explores alternatives to the use of plastic.
The combination of Once Milano and design
Once Milano is linked to design by numerous collaborations with prestigious designers exploring the creative potential of linen. In celebrating pattern, print, colour and hand painting, collaborations have taken the form of projects such as a collection with Studiopepe; a bedding and loungewear collection with StudioToogood and a bedding collaboration with deGournay. Nature and design have particularly inspired Once Milano in the choice of its palette and it is precisely the colour and its changing from season to season that is viewed as the main element capable of bringing out the textures of the textile product. An example, the Wall Hanging created with Studiopepe, a piece in which wrinkled linen is embroidered in relief in raw wool and surrounded by an iron bar, resulting in halfway between painting and wall hanging, thus transcending the limit of the fabric.
