Passoni Design is an Italian company founded in 1948 and grown within the Friulian triangle of the chair, thanks to a high level of technical expertise in woodworking.
Since the 1960s, the company has developed its presence on foreign markets, in particular Germany, the United States, Austria and France, establishing itself as a serious and reliable interlocutor, able to meet the demands of international partners. The development of design products represents a natural step: the technical expertise and the ability to give substance to the projects, even the most visionary ones, favors over time the creation of new collections, thanks to the collaboration with important Italian and international architects: atelier oï, Studio Dinn! Davide Cumini of Iarchitects, Benedetta Tagliabue, Sezgin Aksu and Silvia Suardi, Arturo Montanelli and Ezio Riva. Today the company proposes itself as a quality interlocutor for contract projects in Italy and internationally, aiming to develop at best partnerships with architects, designers and contractors.
In 1963, Passoni Design began exhibiting at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan: the fair, established over the years as the most important showcase of design in the world, will contribute significantly to the growth of the company.
In its DNA, Passoni Design has always cultivated particular attention to the use of natural materials and towards an eco-sustainable approach. Already in 2008, among the first in Italy, the company obtained FSC certification (Forest stewarship council), and today is able to guarantee the traceability and sustainability of the entire chain of custody, from sowing the trees to the sale of the finished product. The company's eco-sustainable vocation is also confirmed by the constant search for natural materials and fabrics (such as the New Zealand certified ecolabel and flame retardant wool), as well as the use of high performance adhesives with zero formaldehyde emissions, or finally in use of special high quality rubbers for upholstery.
For the Manzano company, innovation also goes through the personalization of the finishes: The wine-based finishes, carried out in exclusive collaboration with PelleVino Treatment®, are the careful result of an innovative alchemic process that permits us to obtain unique and completely natural colourings, using the best wines as a basic element. Do not forget the 4 hands of natural oil given to the products - a record that no one else can boast - that represent a guarantee of tightness, quality and resistance, both light and scratches. Or finally, Pellemela, an eco-friendly and non-toxic leatherette, used for seat upholstery, obtained by recycling the waste from the processing of plant products, especially apples.
