KUSKOA BI By Alki
Firmly rooted in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the village of Itsasu, the manufacturing company Alki is nevertheless resolutely open to the world and keeps its gaze firmly fixed on the future. Being close to nature is an ever-present reminder that encourages the brand to use integrated production methods.
Our latest addition to the family, the Kuskoa Bi chair, is the perfect example of this approach.
The Kuskoa Bi is the first chair in the world to be manufactured in bioplastic and is now available in colours that are both natural and warm, echoing the values of conviviality and simplicity advocated by the brand from the very start.
As far as the materials are concerned, the nobility of wood takes on a futuristic look by using it with the innovative material, bioplastic. The technical challenge was taken up by combining oak with this polymer made from plant resources such as corn starch and sugarcane.
As for the design, the chair was built using an enveloping, semi-concave shell and cut in such a way as to ensure optimum support for the back and arms. There are three versions of the Kuskoa B: bioplastic, upholstered on the inside of the chair, or fully upholstered.
For those seeking to combine style and comfort in the workplace, the Kuskoa Bi chair now comes in an office version. The wooden legs are replaced by a central metal structure.
With this world first, Alki is demonstrating its involvement in sustainable development, its profound attachment to traditional materials like oak, its constantly developing expertise and its forward-thinking approach…
