An ashtray is a small tray that is essential in a house or space lived by people who smoke. The most common models are simple open containers where you can leave ash and butts. As for pressure ashtrays, they are more sophisticate. Usually made of metal, their design is timeless and the closing spring mechanism retains dirt and bad smells. Ashtrays have also been an object of study by architects and designers in our days. Above all others, the CUBO ashtray designed by Bruno Munari, a simple and essential object composed of a cubic shell that hosts in its inside part a metal blade that due to its shape hides what is contained away from the sight.
