The Geometric Side Chair elegantly combines a variety of materials in a single design. It features an ergonomically shaped seat carved from solid Walnut and a lightweight pellicle skin of Vienna caning. The nanoceramic coated tubular steel is wrapped with natural grain leather for high touch comfort and to conceal all welds, joinery, and seams, forming a signature element that runs through the Geometric Collection. Leather wrapping also provides extra comfort and support by connecting the two structural elements of the chair’s tubular steel back.
The Geometric Chair is chair with a nanoceramic coated tubular steel frame and a carved, solid wood seat with a double layer of Vienna caning. The frame is wrapped partially in leather. The dual-density seat cushion features a knife edge detail with double stitching. Materials: Satin Nickel, Bronze, Satin Brass or Gunmetal nanoceramic coated tubular steel frame. Carved solid Walnut, Oak, Ash, or Ebonized Ash seat deck with Vienna caning.
The Geometric Colection from BassamFellows celebrates the sublimity of pure geometry championed by the Wiener Werkstätte and the Bauhaus. In the same way that designers of these two influential schools tested the liberating material properties of bentwood and tubular steel, Bassam refined a set of constraints to spirit cold-rolled tubular steel into forms that hold the horizontal planes of a seat deck or tabletop, achieving the poetic appearance of extreme lightness and suspension. These stately steel scaffolds operate as a connective tissue uniting the furniture’s functional elements in a Gesamtkunstwerk, or total work of art, a synthesis central to BassamFellows’ philosophy of formal and functional coherence in design.
