Bidet taps have become increasingly cutting-edge in terms of sustainability. This has been possible by reducing the flow rate and stream of running water, improving access to people with limited mobility, integrating sensors for automatic turning on and off, besides carrying out research on design, materials and finishing. Functionality and style are equally important with these products. Depending on the composition, finishing and design of the battery, the tap will confer a specific appearance to the bidet. Moreover, the bidet tap needs to match the style of the rest of the bathroom taps chosen for the other furnishing complements like the washbasin and shower taps. The entire bathroom taps series will be the protagonist and characterize the fixtures with its personality.
First of all you need to ask yourself whether you prefer a bidet tap or a mixer. The choice is strictly bound to the type of bidet you have chosen. The way the holes are placed on the fixture will lead to a first choice. If there are three holes, you will need to place a bidet tap with individual rosettes, with one spout and two handles, one for the hot water and the other one for the cold water. The water flaw rate will depend on how much you twist the handles for hot and cold water and the two are mixed inside the hose. On the other hand, mixers are single handle bidet taps; the water flow and temperature here are regulated through a single movement of the lever and mixing takes place inside the tap body. When centrally positioned, the lever supply water at a room temperature, while it is possible to get hot and cold water by moving the lever respectively left and right. Monoblock mixers are the most diffused in the form of one hole taps where the spout and handle are part of one single body.
A classic style bidet tap? If you are a fan of this style, you can opt for a three holes tap with a vintage look or for a one hole tap with short hose and a sharp curve. The sinuous contoured lines, the star-shaped handles and the brass-plated finishing will dye the bathroom with a Liberty style. If on the other hand you prefer modern style bidet taps you can consider the squared lines of a single-handled mixer with polished finishing, mounted on the bidet, or a wall-mounted, three holes battery with individual rosettes. The latest trends state stainless steel taps at the top of customers’ choices thanks to the noticeable qualities pertaining to hygiene and resistance of this material. Brass bidet mixers are an evergreen, a renowned ideal value for money solution.
Countertop bidet taps installation, which is done by using the holes on the fixture, is with no doubt the most common especially for the comfort provided when using it. Taps with a swivel spout in particular allow to control the jet by adjusting the cartridge both by its height as by moving it left or right.
As it has been said already, due to the impossibility to drill holes on the fixture ceramic, the choice on whether to opt for a single hole or a three holes battery is to be made at the moment of choosing the fixture. Alternatively, a less common choice are wall-mounted bidet taps, with the spout placed on the wall or on the fixture. If the battery is entirely installed on the wall it is recommended to carefully consider the spout height. A too low tap is not as handy, while a too tall one can cause excessive squirts. The last alternative, not so common for the house use, is that of bidet taps with spray. They can be used also without the presence of a dedicated fixture, fixed on the wall and also in case there is a WC only. This is why it is more of an appropriate solution for hotels that need to deal with ever more common limited toilet space.
Environment matters also for this products. Like for all other taps and thanks to the help of technology many functions and options successfully contribute to reducing wastes related to ordinary usage. Bidet taps with aerator, for instance allow to limit the amount of water emitted while keeping the intensity of water supply unchanged by mixing air and water. To achieve even greater water saving, there are electronic taps, allowing to regulate the water amount, temperature and pressure, next to measuring the consumption at any use. Among these eco-frindly devices there are bidet taps with flow limiter that limit the water flow by controlling the mixer movement and bidet taps with temperature limiter, useful in the first place for personal safety and also for energy efficiency purposes.
