GHOST By Bussi
Flush-with-wall window
The Ghost window is a masterpiece of engineering and design, conceived to offer unparalleled aesthetics and the highest level of technical performance. Its main feature is its fixed frame and fully concealed sash, both on the outside and inside, creating a unique ‘all-glass’ effect. This innovative design allows the frame to be completely integrated into the internal masonry, making it invisible and guaranteeing perfect continuity with the room's surfaces. The result is a window that leaves space only for light and sight, eliminating all visible elements of the frame. Made of FSC-certified glued laminated timber, it consists of mullions and transoms with high-precision shaped profiles, completely embedded in the masonry on both the internal and external sides. The frame is designed to be covered by the wall throughout, offering a clean, minimalist aesthetic without any visual interruption. The corners of the frame are assembled using advanced pin and ‘B3’ vinyl glue techniques, ensuring strength and stability over time. On the underside, the frame is fitted with a thermal break aluminium drip profile, designed to accommodate high performance gaskets and to further protect the structure from infiltration and wear. The use of FSC-certified wood guarantees that the material comes from responsibly managed forests, respecting environmental and social sustainability criteria. The glazed sash, which is also fully concealed, is composed of shaped mullions and transoms, designed to perfectly overlap the frame and ensure perfect closure. The handle-side mullion section includes an additional shaped wooden profile that acts as a rebate element for the main sash, improving insulation and stability. Each sash is equipped with a channel for the automatic glass ventilation system (anti-condensation), which helps prevent the formation of condensation and improve interior comfort.
RC2 certification and advanced security
Ghost is designed to provide not only impeccable aesthetics, but also a higher level of security. The window can be configured with RC2 certification, offering advanced resistance against break-in attempts. This certification is supported by Maico Multimatic Tricoat hardware, a multi-point locking system with anti-corrosion treatment that guarantees durability and protection even in particularly humid or salty environments.
Maico Multimatic Tricoat hardware includes:
- Self-adjusting mushrooms for solid and secure locking.
- Anti-mishandling espagnolette to prevent misuse.
- Controlled micro-action, allowing air exchange without compromising security. This system, designed to support loads of up to 130 kg, guarantees smooth manoeuvrability, mechanical strength and maximum reliability over time.
Qualicoat-treated external aluminium
The Ghost window features Qualicoat-treated external aluminium profiles, a superior quality guarantee for resistance to the most extreme weather conditions. This treatment makes the aluminium highly durable, preventing corrosion and ensuring an impeccable finish that remains unchanged over time. Available in a wide range of colours, external aluminium not only enhances protection, but also offers total aesthetic customisation, fitting perfectly with any architectural style.
Top thermal performance
Ghost is designed to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, making it ideal for CasaClima Gold and Passivhaus certified buildings. Thanks to its advanced construction and selected materials, the window offers a Uw thermal transmittance of up to 0.7 W/m²K, a value that provides exceptional protection against heat loss. This level of thermal insulation not only improves living comfort, keeping the home warm in winter and cool in summer, but also contributes to a significant reduction in energy consumption, making it a sustainable and economical choice. The configuration of the double glazing is a key element in thermal performance. Available in double or triple low-e options, with thicknesses ranging from 32 to 44 mm, it provides optimal thermal insulation and minimises energy losses. Each pane is fitted with argon or krypton gas to further enhance performance, while warm edges reduce thermal bridges, maximising the energy efficiency of the entire window. The sealing system consists of double TPE gaskets with elastic memory, vulcanised and applied along the perimeter of both the fixed frame and sashes. This innovative material not only provides effective protection against air and water infiltration, but also contributes to maintaining thermal performance over time, thanks to its resistance to temperature variations and UV rays.
