PROCESSING AND ASSEMBLY OF PARTS

The wooden elements that make up the window and door frame are made of Capoferri glued laminated timber with three or four parts with multiple joints.‎ These parts, once assembled, ensure greater strength than the wood fibres themselves; in fact, if subjected to a stress greater than the critical stress, breakage occurs at points other than the joints.‎
The central parts, which are not visible, are also sectioned and joined with finger joints.‎ The purpose of this composition work is to guarantee stability against possible deformations.‎
In the sashes, the jointing of the upright with the cross-piece is carried out with triple grooves and keystones.‎
The work of preparing the aforementioned joints (grooves and tenons) is carried out with high-precision electronic machines that ensure the perfection of the joint assembly and thus its tightness.‎

The internal profile of the sash has a 20 mm deep rebate for housing the insulating and/or safety glazing.‎ On the outside, in correspondence with the fixed glazing bead, a EURO-type groove is cut to hold the silicone sealant.‎

The internal glazing bead is returned, fitted and screwed in with tropicised screws or headless nails.‎

The slot for inserting the insulating glass units varies from mm 21 to mm 36 for SC80 and up to mm 50 for SC100 depending on the required performance (thermal insulation and soundproofing, safety).‎

SEALING GASKETS

All gaskets are made of synthetic material resistant to the action of ultra-violet rays and atmospheric agents.‎
The gaskets are assembled by pressure in a special groove cut along the entire perimeter of the sash; the corners are welded, thus guaranteeing perfect tightness and stability in the housing.‎

DRIPPER

The window drip moulding consists of a silicone profile embedded in the transom of the fixed frame.‎ At the ends of the drip moulding, special silicone rubber plugs are applied to ensure watertightness.‎ The drip moulding is covered by a metal profile (316 stainless steel or bronze) and can be covered by a wooden drip moulding on the sash (optional).‎

THRESHOLD and GUIDES

The threshold of hinged patio doors is made of stainless steel or bronze.‎ Flush with the floor and thermally broken, it guarantees a perfect watertightness thanks to the patented "fin" system, which consists of a rotating gasket mounted on the door.‎
The threshold of sliding doors is in 316 stainless steel or bronze, flush with the floor and thermally broken.‎ Water tightness is guaranteed by a system of special silicone gaskets and buffers.‎ The upper guide of the sliding door and window frames is made of 316 stainless steel or bronze (5 mm thick) and also provides an excellent mechanical seal against wind thrust.‎

PERFORMANCE - CERTIFICATIONS

  • - Air permeability (UNI EN 1026 - UNI EN 12207): class 4
    (maximum class) for both casement and sliding frames;

  • - Water tightness (UNI EN 1027 - UNI EN 12208): class E1500
    for casement door and window frames and class E1500
    for sliding door and window frames (class of excellence corresponding to a tightness at a pressure of 1500 Pa, higher than the maximum class 9A, equivalent to 600 Pa);

  • - Wind load resistance (UNI EN 12211 - UNI EN 12210): class C5
    (maximum class).‎

Details

The woods we normally use have been chosen above all according to their resistance characteristics over time in critical conditions and in the outdoor environment.‎ The wood is carefully selected, cut with the right criteria and meticulously seasoned; these factors are indispensable to obtain a product that is stable and durable over time.‎
The wood is varnished with a variety of finishes, using first-rate varnishes and tested cycles; in some cases it is left in its raw state and over time the wood naturally oxidises, taking on a silver-grey colour.‎
We manufacture hinged doors, tilt and turn doors, lift and slide doors, horizontal scissors, vertical scissors, up-and-over doors, knee-hung doors, up-and-over doors, floor-hung doors, projecting doors, packable sliding doors, packable vertical scissors.‎.‎.‎ manual or motorised, with the design and shapes required by the project.‎
They are normally produced in thicknesses of 80 and 100 mm (SC80-100 and SC100) but, depending on the size, style or composition of the glazing required, we produce frames with customised sections and different thicknesses.‎
Interlocking glued laminated timber (patented by Capoferri) is always used, produced entirely in our workshops, and the hardware is largely designed and manufactured in our mechanical workshop.‎
