Rocking Chairs

Defined as a design object in the 18th century, thanks to Benjamin Franklin, but with undoubtedly older origins, the rocking chair remains a timeless seating model, thanks to the comfort of its cosy shape and padding, and thanks to its characteristic 'rocking', capable of improving blood circulation and distributing pressure alternately between the seat and the backrest. In the common imagination - artistic, literary or cinematographic - the rocking chair traditionally finds its place in the bedroom, next to a cradle or in a nursery corner, or, in country houses, next to the fireplace or under a veranda, in the open air. In the wide variety of combinations between classic materials such as wood, modern polypropylene shells and endless fabric coverings, rocking chairs are today design elements capable of offering the living environment a unique and retro touch. The 'rocking chair' is in fact a piece of furniture that is increasingly revalued by contemporary design, so much so that today the market offers both modern style rocking chairs and those with a vintage touch.
