Photocatalytic outdoor reconstructed stone wall tiles
Tarastone - Water-repellent vibrated concrete coating with antiqued, polishe d or hammered finishes. This project, developed by the Group Industrial Donzella, is an innovative engineering stone, made with selected raw materials from quarries in Apulia (ITALY), such as the Stone of Trani, the Stone of Ostuni and the Salento Stone.
Photocatalysis is a natural phenomenon, in which a substance, called photocatalyst, modifies the speed of a chemical reaction through the effect of light. Due to the worsening of pollution levels in urban areas, research has recently started focusing on the possibilities to reduce the noxious substances present in the atmosphere.
The polluting substances produced mainly by traffic, heating and industrial production accumulate in the lower layers of atmosphere. It is now possible to cleanse urban air by employing innovativeecological photocatalytic “self-cleansing” cement materials, suitable in the construction and restoration of roads and squares, as well as of public infrastructures and private houses. This exceptional result is achieved by “cement photocatalysis”, trough the new range of eco-city products.
