The Multiforma series is part of the Materie collection, one of the most representative of Eccentrico brand. It is a ceramic collection inspired by artisan qualities. With this series, our goal was to develop a product that conjures up ceramics of the past but with greater awareness of the issues that surrounded quality and production in the past. Employing the latest digital printing technologies, we have combined modernity and tradition. This meeting of modernity and tradition is reflected in the colour choices, the sizes offered, and above all the applications used. We worked painstakingly on the graphics and the various levels in order to totally eliminate the
"photographic" effect; we experimented with glossy glazes and whites, carefully gauging quantities in the same way as screen printers of the past would. This activity has enabled us to develop a collection with a strong artisan appeal and to create a totally textureless product precisely because of the meticulous attention to graphics, effects, and materials, which has resulted in a feeling of great depth. It is only when you touch the material that you realise the surface is actually completely smooth. We have put our faith in the practice of using coloured glazes and the raw materials that have traditionally been adopted in the art of ceramics. The Multiforma collection is characterised by a palette with a strong communicative element. We set out to play with contrasts and with the possibilities that can be created by combining them with more neutral shades. Multiforma is a versatile material that combines synergistically with the main surfaces produced by Eccentrico; it has a texture that resembles the three-dimensional material of resins and a surface designed to recreate those unique effects in the reflection of light.
