The LUXEMBOURG low armchair first appeared along the pathways of the famous Paris park from which it takes its name in the 1920s, straight from the Paris parks department workshops where the first versions were made.‎ Who could know then that, decades later, it would be reproduced by a workshop dedicated to traditional crafts at Fermob.‎

In the 1990s, at the request of the Luxembourg gardens, Fermob started manufacturing the armchair once again.‎ Today, the LUXEMBOURG low armchair continues to charm thanks to its numerous qualities: its lightness and comfort make it easy to move it from one end of the garden to the other.‎

The LUXEMBOURG range, initially produced for the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, has become something of a legend in its own right.‎ Its style is an emblem of French design – an expression of French culture in furniture form! Today, Luxembourg is a fabulous collection made from aluminium whose watchwords are lightness, joie de vivre and conviviality.‎

Fermob asked Frédéric Sofia to reinterpret the legendary chairs and armchairs of the Jardin du Luxembourg, created in 1923 in the Paris parks department workshops, and which Fermob still manufactures today for the city's public gardens.‎ The result was a whole collection of furniture with the same distinctive lines and forms, combining the lightness and resistance of aluminium with the comfort of curved seat slats.‎
