TOIO By Flos
Design steel floor lamp
1962
Toio is the humorous translation coined by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for the English word toy, with that special linguistic divertissement that lets them appropriate a foreign word and make it familiar and meaningful. And Toio, with its striking assemblage of a special car headlight imported from the United States that same year (1962), fishing rod running rings and shiny red lacquer, really does have the magic of a toy for the adult world.
